Singapore is sometimes described as a plate of rojak, where different cultures come together to form a distinctive Singaporean flavour. This is reflected in the cultural influences between ethnicities and amongst dialect groups, which has shaped our Singaporean identity and impacted the development of a national culture.

The Past and Present of Singapore Chinese Arts brings together accomplished individuals in the fields of art, literature and theatre, to discuss the development of Singapore Chinese arts over the years. Speakers include Professor Kwok Kian Chow from the Singapore Management University, Cultural Medallion recipient Han Laoda, and co-founder of Nine Years Theatre Nelson Chia. Former editor of Lianhe Zaobao Lim Jim Koon will be chairing the session.
