Artists Society of Singapore Grand Art Exhibition 2021

Artists Society of Singapore Grand Art Exhibition 2021

The Artists Society of Singapore (ASOS) was previously known as Nanyang Artists Society. It is later renamed in 2011 after Mr Ren Jian Hui, who is a renowned Singapore artist, was elected as the new president. Past and new committee members reform the society to bring forth positive energy and better exploration in art under Mr Ren’s guidance, emphasizing three principles – Academicism, Internationalism and Passion.

Academicism. It is a necessity to pursue formalist, technical, and compositional training at the very start to set a solid foundation.
Internationalism. The Society is multi-cultural, hence the dynamic of perspectives and beliefs during exchanging ideas.
Passion. Every member is brimming with passion to create. Regardless of nationality, gender, or age, the society believes that individual’s life experience and personal worldview are irreplaceable sources of artistic inspiration.

United with a common passion, the society aims to promote and nurture artistic talents in Singapore. Several of our artists have obtained overseas awards. Through subject matter of still life and landscape, our artists have showcased their passion and efforts through years of practice.
