In this two-hour programme for 7 – 9 years old, students will take on the role of cultural detectives and go on a scavenger hunt of the permanent exhibition to learn more about Singapore’s distinctive culture in a multi-ethnic context. Using inquiry cards with reflective questions, this guided tour focuses on surnames and food. In the hands-on activity, students will create a collage piece after learning more about the impact of local influences on Chinese culture through language and food.
This workshop is conducted in either English or Mandarin and is relevant to the teaching of Character & Citizenship Education, Social Studies, Art and Chinese Language.
Schools may request to only have the hour-long guided tour component at $10.
