
SINGAPORE, 13 August 2024 – This coming Mid-Autumn Festival, an installation of giant mooncakes will light up the night sky at Shenton Way and mark the start of Mid-Autumn Family FUN (MAFF), an annual festive event co-organised by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO).
This three-day event will span from 6 to 8 September 2024 at SCCC and Singapore Conference Hall and feature a total of 21 family-friendly activities specially curated for families and children, young and old to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival the SINGAPO人 Way.
Besides the installation of mooncakes representing different dialect groups on SCCC’s Roof Garden which make for an ideal photo spot, visitors can also moon-gaze at night, watch both ticketed and free stage performances, sing along to moon-themed tunes, participate in a variety of workshops, join lantern walks, try out different mooncakes and tea etc.
SCCC Chief Executive Officer Alvin Tan said, “In celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival, we are delighted to partner SCO again to activate the heart of the Central Business District through arts, culture and heritage. This year, we are bringing back perennial favourites such as music and theatre performances, lantern walks and moon-gazing, and complementing them with new offerings including our first Mid-Autumn Festival rooftop installation. In doing so, we hope to encourage more Singaporeans to visit SCCC and to partake in our family-friendly programmes with their families and friends.”
