2001 Cultural Medallion recipient Yan Huichang is no stranger to the local music scene. This time around together with SCO, he will be serenading you with numerous Chinese orchestra pieces, new and classics alike! The concert will feature Yan Huichang’s recent masterpieces, including the world premiere of Charms of Hainan. Wang Kun, a young talented artist from Puppet Troupe of Shaanxi, China will showcase his skillful talents through the presentation of Rhapsody of String Puppets. The event will also see the first collaboration between SCO Sheng Principal Guo Changsuo and Yan Huichang as they present Kuan Nai-chung’s concerto Peacock on the 36-key sheng.
