The original Singaporean Chinese musical, Journey to Singapura, premiered this April to rave reviews, sold-out performances, and overwhelming demand, quickly becoming the talk of the local arts scene.

Due to popular demand, Journey to Singapura returns joyfully this October! This restage sets a record in Singapore’s theatre history, marking the first time an original local musical has swiftly returned to the stage in the same year following overwhelming success from its premiere run.

Presented by Reverberance, this musical features lyrics and music by Cultural Medallion recipient Dr. Liang Wern Fook, who also serves as the Artistic Director. It is directed and written by Garrick Wong, with music arrangements and direction by Sulywn Lok.

Created as a special tribute for SG60, Journey to Singapura follows Tang Sanzang and his disciples as they unexpectedly encounter the Durian Master and journey through various eras of Singapore’s history. Filled with laughter, warmth, and uplifting energy, audiences are treated to an immersive showcase of local culture and an enriching exploration of our nation’s storied past.

The musical will be re-staged with more beautiful songs, refined plot and choreography.
