Create luminous Chinese characters using gold-toned paper, glue, and calligraphy brushes in this meditative, hands-on workshop.
Inspired by 3,000-year-old traditions—from ink brush calligraphy to gold leaf crafts on signboards, architecture and sacred objects—participants explore a paper craft technique developed by the artist. This experience intimately reveals the structure of Chinese brushstrokes through texture and touch, offering a fresh way to reflect on impermanence, nature, and legacy.
Take home a glimmering keepsake—or contribute your golden word to a growing community artwork celebrating renewal, connection, and the quiet, enduring power of things made by hand.
Recommended for participants aged 9 and above.
Chinese ink and glue may be used in the activity. Participants are advised to take care to protect their own clothing from stains and may choose to use the aprons provided.
