Virtuosic Plucked Strings — A Graceful Dance
It’s a pluck fans’ galore! This chamber concert is presented by three SCO plucked string virtuosos Huang Guifang, Qu Jianqing, and Yu Jia, featuring pieces spanning vast geographical distances and historical eras. These include traditional and folk music, works from Guangdong and Henan, contrasting genre of Peking opera with the tanci music, from epic work narrating the despair of the Hegemon-King of Western Chu to the classic tale of Lin Chong’s escape. It is a repertoire that encapsulates the essence of traditional Chinese music!
