A Voyage of Voices: Moonbound

Principal Conductor Quek Ling Kiong reprises his much-loved role as Ah De, a character inspired by his Chinese name, in Moonbound, the first concert of an exciting new series celebrating Singapore’s diversity. Audiences can look forward to an immersive experience as the stage transforms into a vibrant storyscape. Through a captivating selection of moon-inspired music, journey with Ah De as he savours the sights, sounds, flavours and emotions of the Mid-Autumn Festival beneath the luminous glow of moonlight over the city skyline.

This interactive programme spotlights SCO’s soloists in works such as Singapore Pie and Pelayaran, alongside delightful surprises including a bossa nova arrangement re-imagining of an ancient Cantonese folk tune. Featuring a lively riddle segment and a repertoire that reflects Singapore’s multicultural heritage, Moonbound warmly welcomes newcomers and longtime residents alike – a joyful, family-friendly celebration for all ages that captures the island’s enduring kampong spirit.
