Paper Monkey Theatre’s Masterclass 2026 is part of its ongoing commitment to preserve, deepen, and transmit traditional Asian puppetry practices through rigorous professional training. This immersive Potehi masterclass offers practitioners a rare opportunity to learn directly from a master puppeteer, engaging deeply with the form’s techniques, aesthetics, and performance philosophy. The programme culminates in a short showcase, allowing participants to apply their learning in a performative context.
This 4-day intensive workshop covers Potehi fundamentals, character movement, rhythm, coordination, and ensemble work. Participants will collaboratively prepare a short performance to be presented to 50 invited guests.
