As part of its centennial celebrations, Lianhe Zaobao partners with Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) to organise a special art exhibition 100 years of Singapore Art.
The exhibition presents Qiu Zhai Art Studio’s exclusive collection of 160 paintings and calligraphic works by 80 renowned Singaporean artists, with artwork media encompassing oils, pastels, watercolour and Chinese inks. The exhibition brings together different generations of artists from the past century, including first-generation masters as well as their contemporary counterparts in a magnificent display of local art history.
As a major highlight of Zaobao’s centennial celebrations, and a key event in SCCC’s annual Cultural Extravaganza, 100 Years of Singapore Art will also feature 21 paintings and works of calligraphy from Zaobao’s private collection, all of which were gifts by our very own art masters.
Over the past 100 years, Singaporean artists have blazed a unique path to create a resplendent art scene. This showcase of iconic artists and calligraphers will make 100 Years of Singapore Art a spectacular ode to a century of our art history.
