Extensive transnational networks flourish across the Chinese communities in Fujian, China, and overseas Chinese communities spanning various regions across Southeast Asia, with temples serving as their focal points. By interpreting existing religious inscriptions, it is possible to engage in an in-depth study of how such transnational temple networks were established and examine the modes of interaction and communication between overseas Chinese and their ancestral homelands.
