“Confucius for the Curious” Stories, Wisdom & Fun

Back by popular demand, SCCC is excited to present the return of Confucius for the Curious Workshop!

Step into the fascinating world of ancient wisdom with the Confucius for the Curious Stories, Wisdom & Fun – a lively and interactive session designed especially for kids to learn about Chinese culture in a fun and interactive way!

Through creative games, storytelling, and hands-on activities such as Chinese calligraphy, kids will experience the 2,000-year-old Analects (论语) like never before. Get ready to laugh, think, and learn together with other friends on this unforgettable journey!

(Recommended for children aged 8 to 10 years old. The workshop is conducted in Mandarin Chinese.)

Workshop Highlights:

• Play a hilarious game of broken telephone to uncover some of Confucius’ famous quotes
• Travel back in time and re-enact the ancient scribing of dialogues (语录体)
• Participate in a mini forum theatre where we will relate Confucian values to our modern lives
• Can you find Confy? See if you can spot Confucius in the streets today!
• Immerse yourself in the sounds of the tumultuous Spring Autumn Period—fighting, galloping horses, cries
• Discover the Four Treasures of the Study (文房四宝) through Chinese calligraphy and storytelling
• Meet Mencius (孟子), Confucius’ famous disciple, and hear the tale of the fish and the bear paw
• Practise good table manners through a snack-time simulation of decorum (礼)
• Travel back in time and take an ancient-style Chinese spelling test (听写)
