This year’s ECOncert invites you on a layered descent into the hidden worlds of Singapore’s secondary forests—landscapes shaped by time, memory, and resilience. Structured in seven layers, each musical movement unveils a different horizon—revealing rare biodiversity, entangled histories, and the silent persistence of nature reclaiming space. Inspired by Robert Zhao’s Seeing Forest exhibition, this performance reflects on the reciprocal gaze between humans and nature, where both shape and respond to each other in an ongoing dialogue.
Blending traditional Chinese instruments with instruments crafted from recycled materials, found materials, spoken word and videos, ECOncert offers a multisensory reflection on the soil we walk upon—celebrating Singapore’s rich ecological layers in conjunction with SG60.
