There are many festivals that have been celebrated widely by the Chinese community around the world. These festivals’ traditions, practices and customs differ amongst dialect groups and evolve as they are passed down through generations.
One of these festivals is the Duanwu Festival. Also known as the Dragon Boat Festival, it falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month and is synonymous with the practices of eating glutinous rice dumplings and dragon boat racing.We share, in bite-sized, digestible bits, about how the Chinese community celebrates the festival in Singapore.
