We were pleased to have a collaboration with Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) for our previous year-end performance. It was a great experience, and we appreciate the opportunity.
Dance Ensemble Singapore has contributed incessantly to the local Chinese Arts and culture for the past 30 years and the company has always recognised by the Singaporean Government and featured on local media. Through various performances like Motifs IV (2015), The Wedding (2017) ), Lest We Forget (2018), Whispers from the Dragon’s Teeth Gate (2019, held at SCCC Far East Auditorium), Memoirs of the Lion City (2020), DES has constantly been a leader of promotion of the local Chinese culture, often times crossing paths with styles from the Peranakan/Straits Chinese. DES’ productions emphasised Chinese arts and culture and are reflections of our founder Mdm Yan Choong Lian’s principles of cultural inheritance and remembrance. Our vision and mission are aligned with that of the Centre’s, and we too hope to nurture greater appreciation of our multi-cultural identity and a stronger sense of belonging among our communities.
