Do you fantasise about using acupuncture point strikes to immobilise an annoying relative? Dream of using your lightness skill to leap from streetlamp to streetlamp during traffic jams? Or visualise flinging concealed weapons at your office nemesis?
You can now find out how these fantastical notions came to be part of the public imagination in Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre’s Heroic Moves travelling exhibition! The exhibition traces the depiction and dissemination of Chinese martial arts in newspapers, movies, comics, and television drama serials from the 1960s to the present.
Featuring over 60 objects and images, the exhibition explores how Chinese martial arts became an integral part of local popular culture while conveying the values associated with the chivalrous world of Chinese martial arts.
