Love Amdist the Flames of War

In the early Song Dynasty, to defend against an invasion by the Northern Liao, She Hong and Yang Gun decide to form an alliance through marriage. Upon learning of this, Northern Liao secretly instructs Song official Cui Yinglong to sabotage the plan. Misled by Cui’s manipulation, the Empress Dowager issues an edict betrothing She Saihua to Sun Yan, the son of Sun Jian. She Hong tries to object but is overruled, leaving both father and daughter furious.
Yang Gun hears the news and mistakenly believes that She Hong has broken their agreement, confronting him angrily. Cui then presents false witnesses and proposes a martial contest between Sun Yan and Jiye, with the winner earning the right to marry Saihua. During the competition, She Saihua defeats Sun Yan. Cui, claiming fairness, forces her to fight Jiye as well.
Saihua, deeply in love with Jiye, pretends to lose the match. Jiye later explains everything, and the truth is revealed. At that moment, a captured Liao soldier confesses the full conspiracy, leading to Cui receiving his deserved punishment.
