Be prepared for a lively and engaging lesson with Govin Tan on the Pandeiro, a portable, relatively tiny drum used in Brazilian percussion music. Over the course of the 4 workshops, participants will progressively learn and put into practice the fundamentals of playing the pandeiro, including hand techniques and rhythm patterns.
The program also includes a variety of exercises and fundamental dance moves to enhance coordination, timing, and dexterity. Participants will be led through the samba, choro, baiao, paltido alto, and contemporary funk rhythms that are frequently played on the pandeiro in Brazilian music.
This workshop is suitable for participants 13 years and above of any skill level musically.
