SINGAPORE, 5 AUGUST 2023 – Nearly 1,800 attendees came together for the 17th National Day Sing-Along held this evening at Toa Payoh HDB Hub Mall Square to celebrate our nation’s 58th birthday. The event was graced by Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information and National Development, and was also live streamed on both Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) and Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) Facebook pages, which garnered about 5,000 online views.

Jointly organised by SFCCA and SCCC, the sing-along event welcomed all members of the public to join in and sing their favourite National Day tunes together. This year’s event was hosted by Mediacorp DJs – Chua Leelian from LOVE 972 and Zhong Kun Hua from YES 933. Attendees were treated to an elevated and immersive experience of sand art, where the rich history of Singapore was beautifully showcased – creating an unforgettable experience for all. Local singers including Yokez, Elton Lee, Morgan Law and Yohannis Kasmani led the crowd in a medley of National Day favourites such as “We are Singapore”, “Home” and nostalgic tunes like ‘Beautiful Sunday’ and ‘城里的月光’. In addition, the A Cappella Society’s Children’s Pop Choir & Youth Voices, along with children and youth with special needs from Extra·Ordinary People graced the stage with their captivating song performances, expressing their heartfelt birthday wishes for Singapore.
