Singapore, 23 June 2020 – The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) resumes its popular TGIF Music Station in a refreshed format! TGIF Music Station: SCCC x YES 933, featuring Singapore’s favourite performing artistes and rising stars every fortnight! From 3 July, audiences will be able to tune in to groove and sing along live to popular Mandopop tunes anywhere – at home, at work or even at play!

Mr Low Sze Wee, Chief Executive Officer, SCCC, said, “The recent pandemic may have halted our onsite events, but it has enabled us to fast-track our plans to bring programmes onto digital platforms. In the past, we had livestreamed a few TGIF Music Station sessions and they were very popular. Leveraging the trend of going online for entertainment, we have decided to livestream our TGIF Music Station sessions more regularly. We look forward to having more people, from all across Singapore or even overseas, tune in to discover and enjoy Singapore’s vibrant music scene.”

TGIF Music Station will resume next week, with two sessions held each day on every first and third Friday of the month. Members of the public looking for good local music performances are invited to hop over to the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/singaporechineseculturalcentre/) to tune in to the live performances. As with previous editions, TGIF Music Station: SCCC x YES 933 will feature lunch-time pop up concerts from 12:30pm for all to enjoy a mid-day respite from work or studies through music. As the sun sets, audiences can expect to immerse in an intimate concert of captivating melodies that will be broadcast live from 8pm, and interact with their favourite artistes in real-time.

The refreshed TGIF Music Station: SCCC x YES 933 presents an exciting roster of artistes across different musical styles, promising an auditory feast of popular hits to sing along to. July brings some of Singapore’s rising musicians to the fore, with lunch-time serenades of hit songs like “Stranger In The North” (漂向北方) by Campus Superstar alumnus Aggy Low and MICappella member Goh Mingwei; and energetic numbers by SPOP Sing! semi-finalist Sherman Zhuo. Talented acts to anticipate in the evenings include actress-singer Bonnie Loo, who will be putting her own spin on hit songs such as the recently-released “Miss You 3000” (想见你想见你想见你), and familiar face Derrick Hoh, who will be belting out his multiple hit singles. Look forward also to a rousing duet by Alfred Sim and Gao Mei Gui, and Singapore’s popular export Jocie Guo who will return with her numerous chart hits!

In August, audiences can also expect to discover music across genres performed by emerging artistes PsquareTingzhi.Hz, and Jaspers Lai; as well as immerse in the harmonious voices of trio Ayden SngEdwin Goh and Joel Choo, who are putting their voices together for the first time. Rounding off the August showcases are popular household names Joanna Dong and MICappella with their riveting performances.

TGIF Music Station: SCCC x YES 933 is presented by SCCC, produced by Cross Ratio Entertainment, supported by YES 933 (Official Radio Station), 8world Entertainment and Lifestyle (Online Media Partner) and KKBOX (Music Streaming Partner).
