Sing.浪 Concert 2022 kicks off with an opening act performed by Nam Hwa Opera, Tosh, Gisele Chiam and Choy’s Brothers Opera Troupe

The lineup this year included four-time Golden Melody Best Mandarin Female Singer winner and local singer-songwriter Tanya Chua, Taiwanese-South Korean singer Bii, and our new wave of rising local stars such as Bonnie Loo, Desmond Ng, Gao Mei Gui, Gisele Chiam, Glenn Yong, Ian Fang, Jessica Lu, MICappella, Sezairi Sezali, Tosh Rock and Bunz. Local arts and cultural groups, Nam Hwa Opera and Drum Feng, brought traditional Chinese elements to the concert, creating an electrifying fusion of traditional and modern elements.

This year’s concert edition also marks the grand finale of the SCCC’s year-long 5th-anniversary celebrations, which included a series of exciting new programmes in upsized editions of its regular programmes and cultural festivals to give Singaporeans a deeper understanding of our heritage and the factors that make our local Chinese culture unique.

“Sing-浪 is a signature event of SCCC. We wanted to leverage pop culture to showcase the vibrancy of our local Chinese culture and provide a platform for our local talents. It is SCCC’s 5th anniversary in 2022. To make it a special event, we have incorporated traditional Chinese elements for the first time in this year’s edition. We are delighted to have two of our arts tenants, Drum Feng and Nam Hwa Opera, to be part of the line-up.” said Mr Low Sze Wee, Chief Executive Officer of SCCC.

For those who have missed the Sing•浪 2022 concert or wish to enjoy it again, do catch the post-show on Channel 8 on Saturday, 10 December, from 8 pm to 9 pm, and on meWatch, till 9 March 2023.
