SINGAPORE, 18 October 2023 – The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC)’s highly anticipated youth festival, RE•MIX 2K23, is back for its fourth edition from 5 to 19 November this year.
This vibrant event is curated with a modern take on Chinese Singaporean culture, empowering youths to redefine and embrace their heritage through engaging and accessible arts and cultural experiences.
RE•MIX 2K23 offers many activities tailored for youths to immerse themselves in Chinese Singaporean art and culture including workshops, busking performances, exhibitions, escape game, bazaars and many more.
A key highlight is an experiential installation titled “Live Long & Prosper” by local artist Jahan Loh featuring an immersive room filled with gold ingots, which explores the Chinese attitudes towards auspiciousness and the pursuit of a rich and fulfilling life. Visitors can look forward to a pop-up cafe operated by MADU The Bakery, offering exclusive RE•MIX bakes with unique Singaporean flavours such as chilli crab otah bun and orh nee muah chee cake. Other highlights include a hands-on workshop on how to bond and enhance cognitive abilities by playing mahjong the SINGAPO人 way, a market and fair that features a human claw machine for visitors to win attractive prizes as well as a uniquely-themed escape room based on Chinese culture and folklore.
