About LTA’s Art in Transit for Chinese New Year
Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) is pleased to collaborate once again with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Art In Transit for Chinese New Year (CNY) 2026 and this marks the third year that SCCC is working with LTA on this project.
Featuring the zodiac animal of the year, this year’s vibrant eye-catching designs seek to capture the strength, courage and vitality of the Horse, and feature various horse-related CNY greetings to bring festive cheer to commuters.
The Concept for the SCCC X LTA Collaboration
Commissioned by SCCC, and conceptualised and designed by Studio Grain, SCCC’s CNY art installation, Finding Har马ny, invites visitors on a journey towards harmony, prosperity, and good fortune. Reimagined as a grove of discovery, SCCC’s Roof Garden becomes a festive space to explore the rich traditions and layered meanings of CNY – rooted in the idea that harmony and peace emerge from a deep understanding of our Chinese culture and origins.
For the collaboration with LTA, the installation’s colourful horses, trees, and symbols of prosperity are adapted into transport-friendly designs, allowing commuters to soak in the festive atmosphere while on the go. Drawing a parallel between galloping horses and smooth, joyful public transport journeys, the designs hope to enliven daily commutes while showcasing uniquely Singaporean CNY practices in a light-hearted and visually engaging way.
