What happens when you get more than you bargained for from a gachapon (or affectionately known by Singaporeans as Tikam-Tikam) machine?
One afternoon, Olive spins a prize from a colourful old-school gachapon machine… and wins a golden ticket to visit the elusive Muah Chee Shophouse! When she steps through the doors, she’s amazed — gleaming robots and futuristic machines are working in perfect rhythm, churning out tray after tray of delicious-looking muah chee.
But when Olive finally takes a bite, something doesn’t taste quite right…
This heartwarming tale reminds us that the human touch, warmth, and connection in making food cannot be replaced by machines — and that even the simplest traditions are worth holding onto.
What else is happening at the workshop?
After the storytelling, families are invited to roll up your sleeves and make your own Muah Chee from scratch! Learn to make this chewy, peanut-coated treat in the traditional way— with your hands, heart, and a whole lot of fun.
Recommended for children aged 5-10 years old due to the complexity of the story and cooking process.
Each registration includes a FREE physical copy of BrookieKids’ exclusive bilingual book, “Lucky You, Lucky Me, Lucky Everybody福满人间”!
