The Legend of the Monkey King Returns begins with Sun Wukong trapped under the Five Finger Mountain, having lost his powers. The story follows his journey from a stubborn and rebellious monkey to becoming the legendary Great Sage. Through challenges and setbacks, Wukong learns courage, strength, and what it truly means to grow.
We hope for the Monkey King’s return not only because he is a hero, but because every child can see a bit of themselves in his story — the wish to become braver and stronger.
This production features elements of Chinese opera, martial arts, Chinese dance, and classic poetry, bringing rich Chinese cultural arts to young audiences in an engaging and accessible way.
