Tradition in Motion: Singapore’s Lion Dance Heritage traces the history and the evolution of lion dance in Singapore, from the earliest recorded performance locally to the state of the lion dance scene today.
Featuring over 50 artefacts, photographs, posters and figurines, the exhibition also showcases the diversity, the innovations and the achievements of our local lion dance troupes.
Tradition in Motion celebrates how this centuries-old traditional art form has continued to move with the times and how it has since evolved into a thriving intangible cultural heritage beloved by all Singaporeans.
