SINGAPORE, 13 October 2022 — Mr Ng Siew Quan has been appointed as the Chairman of the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) with effect from 1 October 2022. The former Honorary Treasurer of SCCC would take over the reins from Mr Chua Thian Poh, who was Chairman of SCCC since 2013.
Mr Ng is a partner at PwC Singapore. He is one of the pioneer batch of SCCC Board Directors appointed in 2013, and has been deeply involved with the building’s infrastructure development, programmes and operations. Mr Ng is also an active member in the local Chinese community, serving in several organisations including Singapore Chinese Orchestra, which is located in the proximity to SCCC, Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations and Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry and others.
2022 also marks the 5th anniversary of the opening of the SCCC building. The first phase led by Mr Chua established a strong foundation for SCCC, and Mr Ng will lead the board in its new term to continue promoting and transmitting the distinctiveness of local Chinese culture.
