SINGAPORE, 6 May 2022 – In conjunction with its 5th anniversary celebrations, Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) has partnered with artists Tiffany Lovage and Keith Yeo to release exclusive merchandise reflecting elements of Chinese Singaporean culture.
Tiffany Lovage’s Merchandise Set
Drawing inspiration from sticker collections of many young children’s favourite, Tiffany’s merchandise features an assemblage of familiar elements and motifs that highlights both the distinctiveness and traditional-vs-contemporary aspects of our culture.
Keith Yeo’s Merchandise Set
In his years spent abroad, one aspect of our local culture that Keith missed the most was dining at zi char restaurants with his family. When tasked to create a merchandise set that reflected the distinct mix of cultures in Singapore, he naturally gravitated toward the idea of reimagining this iconic aspect of our local dining culture.
Tiffany Lovage’s Profile
A fine art graduate from LASALLE born and raised in Singapore, Tiffany’s whimsical art style reflects her love for botany and anatomy. She likes to take a more intimate approach to her art which can be seen through her attention to detail. Inspired by Singapore’s familiar motifs that are crossovers from other cultures in Singapore, she showcases and highlights our local culture, such as Nike, Marks & Spencer, By Invite Only, and more.
Having lived in Shanghai and Singapore, Keith’s art has been inspired by his appreciation and exposure to Chinese culture both locally and globally. Since returning to Singapore and starting his career as a tattoo artist, Keith has combined his training in traditional American illustration styles with his love for Chinese culture, in his works with brands like Fragment Room and Assemble SG.
The merchandise will be made available to members of the public as part of SCCC’s upcoming cultural Extravaganza 2022. One will need to share his/her experience at one of the events at Cultural Extravaganza 2022 via Facebook post, Instagram Stories or Instagram Feed, tagging Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. SCCC will select the 50 most creative entries from 13 May 2022 till 1 June 2022 to send the merchandise to them. They will be able to indicate their choice of which set they prefer, on a first-come-first-served basis. More information will be released on our Facebook and Instagram pages next week.
