The quarterly magazine Oneness, targeted mainly at new Chinese migrants in Singapore, was launched by the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations in 2012. Whilst the magazine appeals to a sense of common identity amongst the local Chinese community, its content also discernibly includes the promotion of a cosmopolitan and multicultural lifestyle. This talk will examine how Singapore’s cultural heritage and identity are represented in the magazine, alongside the ongoing challenges of intercultural dialogue in Singapore.
