Terms & Conditions: Online and Social Media Contests by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre

Participation in the contests is subject to and constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

The contests are open to all participants of at least 18 years of age and participants under the age of 18 must obtain their parent’s or legal guardian’s prior acknowledgement of and consent to their participation in the contests. If a participant is participating in the contest by way of a social media platform, the participant must do so using his or her own registered social media account.

All winners will be announced on the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre social page(s) after the commencement of the giveaway, and will be notified either in the comments section or via email on the specified results announcement date. All winners are required to provide their full name, contact number and partial NRIC/FIN number for verification purposes.

By participating in our giveaway(s), the participant agrees that:

• any and all personal data submitted may be collected, used and/or disclosed to the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and any of their related corporations in accordance with their respective privacy policies for various purposes, including to communicate with the participant for purposes related to the contest and for verification purposes, to publish the name of the winner on the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre social page(s) for the purposes of the giveaway, for publicity purposes  and such other purposes as the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre may reasonably deem appropriate; and

• the copyright and all other intellectual property rights in and to all materials submitted by the participant for the purposes of contests shall vest solely and absolutely in the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre without further compensation to the participant or any other person.

Prizes will be sent to winners via email, or via self-collection at 1 Straits Boulevard, Singapore 018906 where applicable and subject to applicable laws and guidelines in relation to the COVID-19 situation. The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre does not undertake any responsibility or obligation to ensure that any prize(s) will be delivered to any winner, Prizes issued are non-transferable, non-refundable and not exchangeable for cash, credit or any other item.  The prizes are subject to availability and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre reserves the right to replace or substitute the prizes with one of similar value at its discretion without notice to the participants or winners.

Winners will be selected by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and/or participating partners. The decision on winners is final and no appeals will be entertained. The participants shall accept and abide by any and all decisions made by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre concerning the terms and conditions, rules, procedures and regulations of the contests, the award of prizes and any other matters relating to the contests. Staff and family members of the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre are not eligible for prizes in these contests. 

The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre reserves the right to disqualify the winning participants or forfeit or withhold any prizes in the event of a breach of these Terms & Conditions and to select reserve winner(s) to replace any winner(s) subsequently disqualified at its discretion. This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook and any information provided by participants or winners are provided to the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre only. 

The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre reserves the right to amend or modify, at any time, any of these Terms & Conditions without prior notice.  The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre also reserves the right to modify the terms of the contests, including suspending, postponing or terminating any contests or extending or shortening the contest period without prior notice.  No person shall be entitled to, and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre shall not be liable for, any payment or compensation (whether in cash, credit or kind) whatsoever arising from the foregoing.

Each participant shall bear his/her own costs and expenses incurred and/or arising from his/her participation in the contests, and no reimbursement may be sought from the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre.

The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre shall not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death in connection with the contests, or any prize, except any liability that cannot be excluded by law. No representations, warranties, terms or conditions that are not expressly stated in these Terms & Conditions apply to the contests and/or the prizes and all implied warranties are excluded, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose of any of the prizes.

The contests shall be governed by the laws of Singapore. In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms & Conditions and any brochure, marketing or promotional material relating to the contests, these Terms & Conditions will prevail.
