Arts Support Framework - Leveraging our spaces to support local arts and cultural groups

art framework

The Arts Support Framework was first introduced in 2019 to address the needs of local arts and cultural groups for affordable administrative spaces, training and rehearsal facilities, and suitable exhibition venues.

Arts Residency Scheme

SCCC’s Arts Tenancy Scheme provides both established and emerging local arts and cultural groups affordable spaces for administrative use, training and rehearsals. The groups under SCCC’s Arts Tenancy Scheme are Nam Hwa Opera, The TENG Company, and Jazz Association (Singapore).

In January 2024, the Arts Tenancy Scheme was replaced by the enhanced Arts Residency Scheme was introduced to provide less established arts and cultural groups with spaces for administrative use, training and rehearsals, In addition, SCCC will also provide capability development opportunities for arts residents. The three new groups selected under this enhanced scheme are Reverberance, Tampines Arts Troupe, and Drum Feng.

As part of the above two schemes, SCCC’s arts tenants and residents also enjoy marketing support for their programmes which are presented at SCCC.

Another component of the Framework is SCCC’s Visual Arts Partnerships, which address the challenge faced by visual arts societies in  finding suitable and affordable spaces to present their annual exhibitions on a regular basis.

The eight societies under this partnership are The Society of Chinese Artists, Singapore Art Society, Modern Art Society Singapore, The Singapore Watercolour Society, Siaw-Tao Chinese Seal-Carving Calligraphy & Painting Society, Federation of Art Societies (Singapore), Sculpture Society (Singapore) and Artists Society of Singapore.

As part of SCCC’s Visual Arts Partnerships, the above societies also enjoy marketing support for their annual exhibitions.

Artspace@SCCC

Aside from the main exhibition and performance venues, SCCC makes available public spaces within the SCCC building to talented local artists to showcase their works through Artspace@SCCC.
