Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic research on Singapore Chinese culture.
  • Administer and facilitate research projects in Singapore Chinese culture.
  • Build partnerships with academia, cultural/civic organisations and public institutions, as well as cultural practitioners and enthusiasts.
  • Oversee the presentation of research content, including the production of documentaries, publications, online articles and other creative products.
  • Conceptualise and work with partners on programmes to present research on Singapore Chinese culture to target audience, including general public, students.

Requirements:

  • Have a good university degree.
  • Possess strong writing, presentation, engagement and administrative skills.
  • Resourceful in researching for relevant information related to Singapore Chinese culture.
  • Able to write and speak well in English and Chinese/Mandarin.
  • Possess an eye for details for editing/vetting in both English and Chinese.
  • Have analytical skills for preparation of project proposals.
  • Able to engage and work with diverse partners and stakeholders.
  • Can work independently as well as in a team.
  • Have a strong interest in and knowledge of Chinese culture, and good understanding of Singapore Chinese culture.
  • 1-3 years of working experience. Suitable fresh graduates would also be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide research, analytical and administrative support for SCCC’s local and international collaborations, including:
    • Analysing proposals and conducting benchmarking against projects of similar scope;
    • Collating and analysing research data and contributing to programme evaluation and strategic planning discussions;
    • Preparing reports on outcomes and presenting insights to support senior management in their decision-making;
    • Scheduling and coordinating meetings across stakeholders, taking minutes of meetings, preparing relevant materials (e.g. briefs, presentation slides, agreements, etc); and
    • Ensuring proper record-keeping of information and documents, and accurate data collation of attendance figures, feedback, survey results, etc.
  • Project manage SCCC’s initiatives that are in line with established SCCC strategic priorities and programming pillars. These responsibilities include:
    • Planning and managing the timelines and progress of projects, allocating and monitoring project budget and expenditure, calling for quotations and tenders, procuring goods and services;
    • Coordinating partners, vendors, and project teams, and delegating duties and logistical arrangements; and
    • Evaluating project deliverables and presenting on project outcomes.
  • Support the development and management of SCCC partnerships, including:
    • Liaising and collaborating with SCCC stakeholders, such as local arts, cultural and community groups, to organise and implement SCCC initiatives; and
    • Coordinating and working closely with internal stakeholders (including SCCC’s teams managing programmes, corporate services, operations, production, venue management, and corporate communications) to ensure the successful implementation of SCCC initiatives.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by CEO and Assistant Director (Strategy and Partnerships) of SCCC.

Requirements:

  • Has strong interest in Singapore Chinese arts, culture and heritage;
  • Pleasant personality with positive attitude, good team player, resourceful, adaptable, responsible, meticulous, detail-oriented, and comfortable with managing figures and complex data;
  • Good interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge and experience in managing diverse stakeholders in a demanding environment would be preferred;
  • Good time and project management skills, with experience in multi-tasking and independently handling all aspects of project management;
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin, with proficiency in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and translation of text into Mandarin;
    • Minimum of at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the arts or cultural sector, and/or programme and events management. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply;
  • Willing to work on weekday evenings and weekends, if required (note: Days off-in-lieu will be provided accordingly);
  • A degree in Arts Management, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field; and
  • Singaporean/Singapore PR only.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, co-develop storylines and identify potential loan objects for a permanent exhibition, special exhibitions and travelling exhibitions on the history, culture and heritage of the Chinese community in Singapore.
  • Work with researchers to conceptualise and develop storylines for exhibition topics related to the history, culture and heritage of the Chinese community in Singapore.
  • Write exhibition panel texts and captions in English and Mandarin.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, experts and academics in the course of developing the abovementioned storylines.
  • Liaise with potential lenders for the loan of objects for the abovementioned permanent exhibition and special exhibitions.
  • Work closely with a team of professionals including exhibition designers, conservators and technicians for the abovementioned permanent exhibition, special exhibitions and travelling exhibitions.
  • Conduct curatorial tours and train docents for the abovementioned permanent exhibition, special exhibitions and travelling exhibitions.
  • Organise conferences, talks and other related programmes.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of relevant research or curatorial work experience in any of the following fields: Singapore History, Chinese Studies, Southeast Asian Studies, with an Honours or Masters in related field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Able to tailor complex curatorial concepts to cater to different audiences.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent project management and inter-personal skills.
  • Able to work independently and also be a good team player.
